This could be an interesting war between consortiumns:
Let's see.

APPL, MSFT, NOK, QCOM - Apple would want the LTE patents just like Nortel, NOK gets paid up license (LOL, after all these years it will cost them only what they would have paid IDCC to settle). MSFT gets the 3G existing licensees, gets to bundle these up with the royalty demands for the Android crowd. QCOM gets the engineers, the R&D, the bandwidth aggregation and other cutting edge tech.


GOOG, INTC, SAMSUNG & HTC - not really sure how they will divide, most likely keep the patents in a separate legal entity that will assign to whoever. Existing business may be spun off to a group of patent lawyers.

So we got 1 billion here, 2 billion there. Add them all up and we get some serious money. Definitely pointing to $5B in total, at least.
