I don't really think it has taken a long period of time given the complexity and potential value of the transaction ($7-$10Billion). I know we all wish it was faster, especially holders of those Sept. options.

I'm thinking about 3 months from the announcement of stategic alternatives would be an average time to complete the review and accept a bid. The MMI deal with Google was probably that long, and the Nortel process was longer.

I also don't remember any reports or rumors saying "August" the bids might be due. The only reports from Bloomberg were delayed "sometime after Labor Day".... and "bids are due in two weeks" which was reported on Sept. 9th.
