http://www.eia.gov/ipm/supply.html last spreadsheet has world totals from 1970-2009. 2010 data are not finalized but 1st 3 qtrs look to be 86 M BBL/day. don't know where brown obtained his numbers but they are quite light (as well as cheery picked to fit his hypothesis).
