R.I.P. MOPAR10R/T. It is with a sad heart that I inform my fellow iHub members that Ron, as he was known to most of us passed away last night of Chronic Heart Decease while waiting for surgery to have some stints put in place. When I spoke with his roommate I was told it was a blessing as Ron was suffering much more than he let on; this does not surprise me as Ron was tough and quite in nature.

Ron has had many names here and back in the day on RB. I first met Ron about 14-years ago on RB, we both came here to iHub about 10-years ago, and we started shooting together up on Mt. Hood about 5-years ago each spring and summer. We became pretty good friends over the years; he was number 7 on my Speed Dial; he was a kind man with a good soul.

Ron was a true gentlemen at all times with a touch of class and grace; we never had a bad word between us even though we saw the world through a different political lens. We shared many a post, private message and phone call, and lately we had been sharing what we called “Burger Monday’s” at a Blues Club in Oregon City that Ron had found with a very good Monday Special of a Cheeseburger, French Fries and a Drink for only $3.00. We met on as many Monday’s as we could.

Ron once found a specific rifle that I had been looking for at his gun club and got a bargain price on it for me. However, my mother had broken her glasses and I had to come up with almost $600 cash and had to pass on the deal. He called me the next day to let me know he bought the rifle and that I could pay him whatever I could whenever I could, that’s the kind of guy he was. He was a happy man who loved to shoot as much as he loved to laugh.

Ron was gentle, giving and always cheerful. He never stopped living; his heart just gave out. I will miss him very much, and I will think of him every time I’m on Mt. Hood and whenever I’m shooting. I know in my heart and soul that Ron is with God now.

R.I. P. Ron, You Will Be Missed.
