I had raked up a few feet and was so pleased with the bounty that I took a picture. The camera is sideways, so please tilt your head.
I had already planted the seedlings very shallow before I read your post. In the spring, we plant when the weather allows it. In a day or two afterwards, I read you and Excel's post on growing potatoes. I like Excel's idea of growing them in a round container and do plan on trying that next year. The spuds were already in the ground this year so I went with your idea of piling on the straw. It worked very well, thanks again.
When you say "I'd plant a heavy feeder where the potatoes were next year." What are you recommending?
The pic below is just slightly to the right of the potatoes. If you look close, in the lower left, you can see the potatoes. (and that black seed tray that I really should pick up. lol)
