I Love looking at pantry shelves full of canning! I'm moving in that direction. In your statement imo there are a thousand stories that got you there full of disappointment as well as success. It's been said in most parts of the US stores food will be wiped out in three days if disaster would happen. I live up on a mountain so flooding is no concern except for changing my routes on where to go in the valley to get where the work is. Every once in a while everyone is cut off from going anywhere in the valley as all roads under water. Now people know it will only be a day or so till the main road opens yet they flock to the store emptying shelves fast. Not whole store but it sure gives you an idea what it would be like in a situation that went on in length. Same thing happens in snow storms. The media works people into a frenzy and they rush to the store. I want to be where you are looking at the pantry. To think people rely on the government, stores, etc for their well being. How scary is that? All one has to do is look at Katrina to see reality about our governments ability to handle a disaster. And they knew this one was coming. Just think if they got surprised? OK, I rambled on long enough. Enjoy your fishing.
