To follow up on Dave Davis's post regarding the JPO. I asked publicly from the mike if we could get an update on the JPO and Panasonic. Merritt, said that they patents had issued in Japan. I then asked him if I heard him say the patents issued in Japan, and he said yes. And that they were having discussions.
After the meeting myself and one or two others went over this again. Merritt said, as I recall, the patents are 3G and issued in Japan. Panasonic produces most of their products there, and with the 3G patents issued they were in discussions. He also clarified for me that these are not te old 2G TDMA and GSM patents that were referred to the high court.
All in all I felt that it was a good meeting, and even though we did not get the Nokia decision it was clarified that the 31st was the date for the final decision, not the date established for the parties to have the decision in hand.
Our managers and BOD did well in answering questions at the meeting and were as forth coming as they could be.
Hell, I even met Corpbuyer, and told him I was going to strangle him. But I didn't, because the man is allowed to have his opinion.
That's all for now, as I just got off the road from the meeting. The George Washington bridge was a dog this afternoon.
