With all the white space on top, why put all the headers on one line. Doesn't make sense.

Because there are ads there for the majority of pages viewed.

These changes were needed for technical reasons. I'm not going to bother explaining because most users won't understand or care. Just like all changes they are met with resistance. This too shall pass; it always does.

Aside, the top right location of those menu items is the typical location for most websites that have those functions.

We are going to bold the mailbox count, and make it red to see if that helps with the transition.
