Not sure if this will fix it but you can try.

Open Windows Media Player from
Start button/All Programs/Accessories/entertainment/windows Media Player

In the top right side look for a tiny “down arrow” and click it and choose Tools/Options to open a small window with various tabs. Under the “File Types” tab it says Select the File Types for which you want Windows Media Player to be the default player.

Make sure there is a checkmark for all file types and click Okay.
