If you go to device manager and expand the problem device then right
click/properties. Select the Details tab. Make a note of the Device
Instance ID. The VEN_xxxx & DEV_xxxx codes will be a source of
locating the offending driver using Google.

Search for the string VEN_xxx&DEV_xxxx and you should get links to
the manufacturer. From there it requires a little thought as to the
type of device but it may be obvious when the search results come back.

Example:

Device in Device manager....

VEN_10EC&DEV_0888 (in this case a Realtek High Definition Audio device)

Searching Google (click link for results):

http://www.google.com/#hl=en&sugexp=bvie&xhr=t&q=VEN_10EC%26DEV_0888&cp=0&pf=p&sclient=psy&source=hp&aq=0&aqi=&aql=&oq=VEN_10EC%26DEV_0888&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=c4c796b09a129ab4&biw=1382&bih=704&bs=1

Google show the first entry as a link to the Realtek web site.
