John Brown based his feelings on his interpretation of scripture. His interpretation of The Bible says there is petroleum (not olive oil) where Zion Oil is wildcatting.
The company business model is based on Brown's belief system. Zion Oil may have found some scientist they could pay to reverse engineer their beliefs, and give them some better idea where to point a drill bit. But that no more guarantees a commercially viable oil well than any other belief system.
