Yes, both AIM and X_DEV were optimized.

Both started with $20,000 Stock Value and $10,000 cash

I used AIM BTB with a 5% SAFE

I didn't adjust X_DEV's parameters at all through the entire time period. It really isn't necessary to "constantly change the parameters" as some would have you believe. Only when significant trend reversals occur is it recommended to re-optimize the parameters to take advantage of the new trend. This is another way X_DEV can control risk and avoid the "deep diver" situation.

As Irwin just stated, X_DEV is great at finding a stocks natural rythm and where the highs and lows in its trend have been so that going forward these highs and lows can be capitalized on. You use the same settings that worked in the past for the right side of the chart going forward. Like AIM, this eliminates the need to "predict the future" by reading tea leaves or technical analysis charts, though TA charts can give you an early heads up to a possible trend change so I wouldn't discount them altogether.
