We should make it plain that there is nothing nationalistic in the preference for exchange-listed promotions ... it's a thing of the relative chances of intrinsic value therein, of reporting standards and availability of crucial information like share structure du jour
Not many years ago it was our Howe Street that was Scam Capital of the World, people came from all over the planet to hide behind the lax provincial securities regs and the completely immoral setup of the VSE, to rip off suckers from all over .... so the VSE got cleaned up, listing maintenance requirements went up dramatically, and the scammers couldn't do their thing anymore, so they moved, it's that simple ..... at the same time, there were always some legitimate plays on the VSE - remember how Keevil moved his Teck out here after the TSE tightened up following the ballyhoo over Windfall ... Pyramid at Pine Point, folks did well on that ultimately, it was legit ..... my first share speculation was a VSE effort, Giant Mascot, it had quite a degree of business success for a while, its eventual successor is now Campbell Resources, cch.to, they may have already won a valuable prize and just don't know it yet
So there may be legit plays on the bb/pinks too ..... anyway, all responses so far lean to leaving the thread open to them, so there it stands .... you make some fine points here Will, as always - that's right, just try to find a lively conversation on Noranda or Newmont ... good thing Barrick does the evil shorter routine, that makes for an active chat -g-
aberf.naz vs. abz.to - yes i've noticed that, gaping spread on Nasdaq many days, and there i think the MMs are not required to show client orders, you must buy from them, or sell to them, you can't one-penny them on the bid or offer and deal direct with another non-pro buyer/seller .... at the same time, there is a whole lot more money rolling around down there, generally speaking ... before getting real interested in any play, i would want to be assured that they will at some appropriate time get a US listing, because otherwise they can't realise full value for what they've developed
