I might just pony up the subscription fee just to keep up with this thread... maybe. A few more beers in me, maybe...

It does NOT tell me that there was any wrongdoing by Appaloosa, which is the crux of your argument heretofore today. Again, and not to burst your bubble, but I am making no comment either way that Appaloosa either did or did not act in violation of the law via insider trading. I made a comment that it's possible that no wrongdoing will be found. You keep trying to spin it into some sort of personal jab at me for somehow not understanding what you believe to be fact, (in that Appaloosa really did perform IT because a bunch of circumstantial evidence suggests they may have), when those accusations are of absolutely no consequence whatsoever when applying them to what may happen in court over the next few weeks. If actual, real, honest-to-God proof is presented, then great - we'll have some actual facts to add to our base of the limited observations of what's going on, and at least we'll know a little more about what we're dealing with. That's it. It's simple. I'm not a conspiracist, I'm not an idiot. I'm not hanging some sort of self worth on the opinions of a bunch of anonymous posters on the internet that I'll never meet personally. I'm just trying to separate actual fact from supposed ones, and you keep making vehement claims over and over again that those same suppositions are indeed facts, with a little ad hominem thrown in (on almost every post, I might add) presumably to try and sound tough.

It DOES tell me that the hedge funds saw better value in the stock long-term than cash up front, and that they've come to the realization that they must be willing to share in the wealth now that the cards being dealt by the court and by the process show that they now must do so due to valuation among other things. They didn't give up control, they realized that valuations are going to give control to equity, and they now understand that they're just in for the ride now.

I can't believe I'm letting you drag me back into the "what was the reasoning behind what it is we don't understand" arguments. We don't have the full picture, speculation is just that, and your insistance on presenting your theories as indisputable fact is truly exhausting.

Volley to you.
