Not only does VDSL not support 6 mbps @ 9000 feet as Northern Trader stated, it is also not symmetrical. The true comparison with the VDSL standard is NV 30 mbps @ 5500 ft, and the VDSL standard is 2 mbps @ 5500 feet, both asymmetrical. The two key components are 1) the speed and distance that NV can do, and 2) that it is repeaterable. If you take 30 mbps and repeat it twice, you have 30 mbps @ 16,500 feet. Incredibly good. You will see in the PR that NV chips have "low latency". This means that at the repeater, the signal is transfered extremely fast. Most current technology is not designed this way, so it gives NV another UP on the competition.

They also will co-market with network processor companies (intel or whomever they strike deals with) to have their transport processor next to the network processor on the circuit board, and essentially market each others processors as well as their own.
