AT Trial RFP 6/16 (Update 4)

First the news that everyone is waiting for.

Yes, we have the 12 jurors sworn in and seated. We had a real turkey of an afternoon trying to get the 6 alternates. Juror after juror were total disasters in one way or another. We capped that off with 2 jurors being caught by the attorneys posting about the trial on Facebook. Let me just say that you don’t want to be on the receiving end of Judge McBride’s anger. He was given the information by some or all of the attorneys and he exploded and called the 2 jurors out by name and gave new meaning to a reaming. He threathened them with jail time and fines and then threw them out of the courtroom. Then he lectured everyone remaining that if anyone else did it and screwed up this 6 month trial and wasted the time and money involved he would take action.

We do not have our alternates as of yet. The scheduled is that they will come back in Monday morning and we finish the jury selection. Then we do opening arguments the same day. Yes, opening arguments on Monday the 20th.

The good news is that the 2 facebook criminals were not in the group of sworn jurors. Apparently if you have a sworn juror doing that it gets real complicated and has to be a legal maneuver removal and charges.

We should have the alternates in about 30 minutes on Monday. The lawyers are about ready to excuse for preemption. They only have one or two left.
