you hit the nail on the head. the current NK problem is a direct result of NK equating the US with Carter. Bin Laden equated the US with the Clinton administration and assumed we were weak and unlikely to vigorously respond. how many prior attacks went with little or no response? bush speaks straight and strong like reagan. the real danger is having nut cases believe they can take us or that the left will criticize us into inaction and self blame. this isn't about tooting our own horn or world domination or bullying, its about prevention, self-defense and loudly letting the criminals and terrorists know how the game is played and that their misconduct will have serious consequences. sorry if some construe this as politics but look how it affects our markets and economies. it certainly has a bearing on our trading and investment decisions. do we have to be hit hard again before some will wake up? no offense intended to any here.
