As oil prices continue to remain high, the Eagle Ford oil window is emerging as one of the most lucrative unconventional reserves in the U.S. With E&P operators rushing to exploit it, the race is now on to develop the most effective hydraulic fracturing and completions techniques to capitalize on the huge volumes of reserves in place in the play. So how do we maximize the worth of the Eagle Ford? Bringing together the latest techniques, results and findings is a good start!

Â

Â

The 3rd North American Tight Oil Congress, has now been launched and, for the first time ever, will focus exclusively on completions and hydraulic fracturing techniques in the Eagle Ford oil window. The congress will see thought leading speakers such as VP Eagle Ford from Pioneer Natural Resources, VP Drilling & Technology from Lewis Energy and the Global Lead of Stratigraphy from BP consolidate their knowledge to collectively develop methodologies and techniques for maximizing recovery and increasing the profitability of oil production.

Day one will hear operators explaining how they have chosen proppant types and fluid concentrations to develop a recipe for maximum oil recovery in the Eagle Ford. Frac stages and spacing will also each be discussed followed by presentations on frac technologies, frac equipment availability and water sourcing.

Day two will examine how the discontinuous geological characteristics of the Eagle Ford can be understood to enable the effective application of drilling and completions techniques. Reservoir deliverability will be discussed relative to reservoir pressure, lithology, porosity, saturation, permeability to identify how rock characteristics can be exploited to increase recovery. The conference will end with presentations identifying successful drilling techniques and technologies that can be used to improve oil recovery throughout the life of the well including lateral lengths, drill orientations and faulting and steering techniques.

This event is being produced by American Business Conferences, producers of the sold-out Tight Oil Shale Plays World Congress (January 2011, Denver) and theTight Oil Canada 2011(June 2011, Calgary). This event should not be missed by any decision maker or technical expert involved in drilling, reservoir engineering and completions in the Eagle Ford play.
