Bernie has always been one of my favorites. I think he is someone who has always been a "team" player.

A few interesting things in that article........"Williams has never been a Steinbrenner favorite" There seems to be a correlation between home grown players and Steinbrenner not liking them. He never cared for Pettite either and there was a point that he seemed to clash with Jeter. Steinbrenner is like a kid who has a lot of toys but is always looking at what other people have and wanting their toys too.

I didn't understand this statement:

"We've got to get him enough at-bats to make it count. That's why it's important that Jason plays first base."

Make it count for what?
