Another thought is that maybe some lawyer finally convinced them to keep their mouths shut.

Or maybe they're just getting bored. No real purpose could possibly have been served by their bizarre actions, other than getting some kind of kick by jerking the same dozen 'believers' around again and again, or some thrill out of rubbing it in the face of the SEC. That's gotta get tired after a while.
