Funky, in short the FBI and the gov't agencies involved embarrassed themselves big time. They used convicted felons (2) to try and run a sting operation which you are referring to. To make matters worse for themselves, they were convicted of stock fraud and other things and at the time the FBI used them they hadn't even served their time or paid the fines the Judge ordered them to.

The "whale" as you call it isn't LP or anyone else past or present BOD or connected to the companies CDCH or MDMN. There are multiple entities very interested in buying both stocks not just one. I will tell you it is Legit but I don't expect you to believe me anymore than I expect anyone to believe anyone else on a message board.
