I've been investing for over 50 years. I never much paid attention to whether or not earnings were audited or not. I can remember sitting in the Merrill Lynch office in New Haven in 1972 discussing stocks with my broker. He never once mentioned audited earnings for any of the companies I was investing in, whether they be blue chip or penny stocks.
