HDY -- shortly after close friday HDY announced underwriters's option had been sold. That didn't take long. Total net to co was 136.5 million dollars. That plus cash on hand gives the co both credibility and flexibility to act as operator, as it is. It's on a tight schedule to get drilling underway in 4Q and it now has the funds to do what is required. We can expect news of the rig soon, to be followed by another NSAI assessment which I think w/b well received. There are a number of drilling targets of varying geologic characteristics over a large area from which drilling selections can be made which should improve chances of hitting something worthwhile.

Hyperdynamics Announces Exercise of Over-Allotment Option by Underwriter

HOUSTON, March 25, 2011 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Hyperdynamics Corporation (HDY, Trade ) today announced that the underwriter of its public offering of common stock has exercised its over-allotment option, which will result in the issuance of an additional 3,750,000 common shares. The option was granted in connection with the public offering of 25,000,000 common shares at a public offering price of $5.00 per share, which is expected to close on March 30, 2011, subject to customary closing conditions.

The Company announced earlier today the pricing at $5.00 per share of its offering of 25,000,000 shares of common stock. With the exercise of the full over-allotment option by the underwriter, Rodman & Renshaw, LLC, a subsidiary of Rodman & Renshaw Capital Group, Inc. (RODM, Trade ), the total size of the offering will be 28,750,000 shares for gross proceeds of approximately $143,750,000.
