IMA: I am probably very similar to you:
---Bought in 1989 thru 1994 between $2.62 and $9.25
---Sold ONLY when I needed cash for major items
---Sold ONCE when Insiders sold in 2010 following their 'lead'
---Promised myself to sell at certain levels and never did
---Don't use stop losses, margin, puts, calls
---But, unlike you, I am -21 years your age (62 and no longer working)

INFINITE_Q: I whole heartedly feel and believe what you said in your post to Ima are exactly why we are where we are today with the share price:
---The perceived "miss" in earnings at 4-Q-2010 even though we had money that could have met/exceeded expectations
---The world events in Libya and Africa/Middle East

In 1999, I really believe that the run-up was more on speculation that IDC would prevail in the Motorola case and this would be an opportunity for growth with their license and others would follow. Obviously, this was not to be.

The recent run up may have been because of a 'probable' favorable resolution on the NOKIA matter, but more importantly IT'S MORE THAN THE POSSIBLE VICTORY in the courts.

IDC has earnings that it didn't have back in 1999. It has licenses of clients that it didn't have back then. They have a track record of providing or developing solutions to telecom needs cuurent and future. It has the knowledge and expertise to provide IPR for most all voice and data needs.

It is a shame that the market and share price has reacted the way it did, instead of looking at the fundamentals and facts and growth opportunity in M2M, Bandwidth, and other things IDC is working on to address what problems will develop with future technology needs using today's technology capabilities.

Lastly, while I am disappointed with how management does not disclose all of its terms, rates, licenses, and business accomplishments because of 'confidentiality', I hope one day they can and will be able to provide information that would help analysts see the growth of our company.
