By “horse needle,” I mean a product/needle combination that causes injection pain. For instance, the pre-filled syringes for such products as Restlyane, Juvederm, and Radiesse are horse needles, but the needles for Botox and Dysport are assuredly not. The level of pain depends on the viscosity and pH of the drug as well as the needle size.
