Thank you. I agree with you that perhaps a century ago when industries were highly capital intensive, corporations did have a more advantageous bargaining position than the average job applicant. The real life experience over the past century has shown that the best way to improve the individual worker's bargaining position is having another employer willing to offer a higher paying job. That's why worker income go up dramatically whenever businesses are booming . . . even the janitor and receptionist became millionairs at the dot-com firms, and they were not part of any union. Flexible employment condition is critical to efficient allocation of available labor and capital, so that labor are better off. Ultimately, labor is the primary beneficiary in a rapidly progressing/transforming economy: old capital become obsolete and displaced by new capital assets, human beings are much more flexible.
