Well they say it should be 3 loops. and it is not much, but lightning is a very strange animal. You have those millions of amps wanting to go SOMEWHERE in an instant.

Another whole can of worms we can get into is grounding. In my experience, only grounded systems fried! lol Grounds are great for getting rid of static buildup and interference(sp?) but since lightning either comes from or goes to ground(I thinks it's both) you are leaving a path for it to the electronics. Seems like it fishes around for a path first from the earth, hence the tingling, and then BAM, current flow.
