it will take 2-3 years for the average "Joe" to get the idea around having a "trusted identity in cyberspace" and I'm not sure they will ever understand why a device or network they use needs to be secured and trusted as well.
Our financial futures will be made long before "Joe" wakes up to the concept.
Think of the hundreds of thousands of global employees that are already using vetted CAC's (Common Access Cards) in the DOD and PIV-1-4 Cards (Personal Identity Verified cards)for non military personnel.
Those employees already know what it's all about having someone issue you trusted and verified credentials. The next step is to secure the networks and devices that those credentials are going to be used on, and in this "Dreamer's opinion", it's very close to becoming a reality.
