Maybe the approach should be like with the I-net craze, find out who provides the picks and shovels. Dupont as a lock on proton transfer membranes. Engelhardt and OMG (yes, our "orphan value stock") are suppliers of important parts of the electrodes.

Most of the IP is already in public domain (hey, I authored a patent on some fuel cells technology circa 1975 which has long since become "public domain").
