Yes they (buyers)maybe attempting to draw out stock. That is not lame. It is how positions are acquired. If there is not much stock for sale and you have "large to buy" it does you no good to keep taking out small blocks and driving the price up. You bid when stock is available and pull back when supply dries up (very simplistic explanation but essentially what happens).
