You are correct that there is power in the solar spectrum in the infrared. That is why silicon photovoltaic cells do so well. Their response peaks at about 1.1 microns well into the near infrared spectrum. Again, the solar radiation peak is in the visible but its total radiation includes UV (that's why we get a sunburn) and the infrared (that is why we feel the heat from the sun). But again, the peak radiation is in the visible spectrum where the silicon photovoltaic cells are reasonably efficient and not transparent.

Again, I advise researching the balance sheets for this company, the technical background of its founders and its corporate shell game. If you like what you see, then buy it.
