MIAMI, Mar 10, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) --GlobeTel Communications Corp. (OTCBB:GTEL) today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Sanswire Networks, LLC, will be joined by two highly experienced and respected aeronautical engineers, Messrs. William Dodson and Michael Matarrese.
"As Sanswire grows, its needs grow with it and we are pleased to be able to attract such high quality professionals to our cause," stated Timothy Huff, Chief Executive Officer of GlobeTel. "The Stratellite has sparked the imagination of the aerospace industry and those who have the vision want to be a part of making history and with these professionals, we are increasing our expertise to achieve our goals. So I am extremely pleased to introduce our two new members to Sanswire," added Huff.
Mr. William Dodson will serve as the Senior Structural Engineer of Sanswire. Bill has over twenty five years experience with premiere aerospace companies and government services, including Scaled Composites (who built the SpaceShipOne that won the Ansari X prize as well as the GlobalFlyer, which recently completed the first non-stop around the world flight, piloted by Steve Fossett), AeroVironment, NASA and the Air Force as an structural engineer, structural dynamicist, aeronautical engineer, project manager, and pilot. He is a hands-on engineer with extensive experience in the fast-paced design and construction of hi-efficiency vehicles, ranging from man and solar powered aircraft to high altitude UAVs, missiles, and spacecraft. Bill brings analytic and practical abilities in aerodynamics, composites, structures, fabrication, maintenance and piloting to bear on design integration.
Bill maintains world class contacts in aircraft, airship, solar, electrical and aircraft systems to supply expertise as-needed to optimize and expedite specialty areas of development. Bill is equally at home with hand analysis on the back of a napkin as he is building high end computers to run complex analytical models, or programming and running a CNC mill to machine parts and tooling. He has an extensive research and development background as well as rapid prototyping, testing, and production development. With his extensive background, Bill will bring expert knowledge to help put Sanswire in the history books.
Dr. Michael Matarrese will serve as the Senior Aerodynamics Engineer of Sanswire. Michael has over 17 years experience as an aerospace engineer, including several years of close work with famous airplane designer Burt Rutan as an aerodynamicist and configuration designer. He has been involved with the design, development, and flight test of six aircraft, and has provided consulting services to the aerospace community in aerodynamics, computational fluid dynamics, performance analysis, vehicle preliminary design and optimization, and software development. His formal education includes a Ph.D. and B.S. (Summa cum Laude) in aerospace engineering from the highly regarded programs at the University of Michigan and Ohio State University, respectively. He brings to the Sanswire team extensive knowledge of aerodynamics and conceptual design, significant practical experience in flight vehicle development, and exceptional analytical capabilities.
"Bill and Michael's extensive careers in design, development and testing of proven world class advanced aircraft, including manufacturing of state-of-the-art composite airframes and application of leading-edge technology, linked with their skills as an aerodynamicist and aeronautical engineering, make them an excellent addition to the Sanswire technical team. We look forward to their technical inputs, technical advancements perspective, and representation to the public of our exciting and world-changing new capabilities," Mr. Huff concluded.
The bios of Mr. Dodson and Dr. Matarrese will be added to the Sanswire website along with Mr. Bob Jones, who recently joined the Sanswire team from NASA.
