Geocaching is a hobby that combines outdoorsmanship with technology and keen eyesight - it's an environmentally friendly, worldwide scavenger hunt! It started in the year 2000, when highly accurate GPS technology became available to the public and could be used to determine the coordinates of a hidden container.
