Upon seeing a beautiful wild cat in the distance, you risked life, limb, and the guide's displeasure to snap a picture from your window. Of the many creatures that are native to mountain habitats, which of these is NOT a real animal species?

The mountain lion, native to North and South America, answers to several names, including puma, cougar, panther, and catamount. Sadly, the survival of some mountain lion subspecies has been threatened by habitat loss and hunting. One of these is the highly endangered Florida panther; its population was estimated in 2010 to have grown to 100, thanks to conservation efforts. Mountain goats live in the peaks of western North America, and mountain gorillas are primarily found in central Africa's forests. There is no such species as "mountain hog."
