At the invitation of Henri Ducard (Liam Neeson), Bruce (Christian Bale) goes to Ra's al Ghul's temple in the snowy mountains of Bhutan and there learns the martial art of ninjutsu. Instead of joining the villainous League of Shadows, though, he returns to Gotham City to fight its corruption. Although set in Bhutan, the scenes featuring Ra's temple and its surroundings were filmed at Iceland's Vatnajokull glacier, the largest in Europe.
