Here's todays WT-A...

A) Meatball

"Quiztaker, there is no smoking on this bus, and you have the wrong mountain anyway. Mt. McTrivia does NOT smoke," our guide declares, fuming.

Going up the mountain brought to your mind that old song, "On Top of Old Smoky," and you just couldn't help singing a few bars. When reprimanded by the guide, you switch to the parody version, in which what rotund dinnertime object is lost due to a sneeze?

Your Answer: Meatball

"On top of spaghetti, all covered with cheese, I lost my poor meatball, when somebody sneezed." The children's classic, "On Top of Spaghetti," goes on to recount how the meatball ended up outdoors and sprouted into a tree whose fruitage consisted of meatballs and tomato sauce! In 1963, Tom Glazer put these lyrics to the tune of "On Top of Old Smoky," a folk song recorded by The Weavers in 1951. The ballad tells of a lover lost on the snow-covered mountain, "for courtin' too slow."
