Rumors that the federal government of Brazil ousted VALE’s CFO a few months ago were apparently true. According to the Brazilian magazine, Veja, the new president of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff, wants to get rid of VALE’s CEO and replace him with Antonio Palocci (former finance minister of the federal government), Guido Mantega (the current finance minister), or Luciano Coutinho (president of Banco do Brasil).
It’s a shame that the kind of government meddling in Petrobras is now carrying over to VALE.
