Summer, I just noticed this stock (zixi) on Oct 15th. I haven't formed theory yet, but with all of the M&A activity we've seen recently in the tech sector, well.... ( note: I wrote this before reading mr10001's post - what he says sounds completely plausible to me)
As for any relationship to Wavx, I don't see anything that would even remotely connect the two.
As an aside summer, with respect to Wave, look into a private company called Verdasys, if they have an IPO, or if you find another company with similar technology/product in the public market, I recommend you take a very strong look at it.
