you do understand that Alex did not do an analysis of the essentiality of the patents, just looked at the "declared" patents or "candidates"?

The problem that we discussed last year about this particular presentation was the way that it showed "where" IDCC declared their patents (to which working group) or standard. Look at slides 12 and 13.

IDCC "declared" patents to the TS300 area, which is general description. I'm not saying that the patents can't or won't be used within the other TS areas, just that posting them to general without specificity is a flag. You can see this more clearly on slides 8-11. Most all other companies put their patents in specific areas, which are more important.
