Probably most of the greyhounds were racing until recently. Maybe they saw the other dogs as competitors. Certainly no one would ever have explained to them how to be appealing, or why they needed to do that.

Apparently they have to be taught how to deal with stairs, and other basic stuff. But they're very grateful to be adopted.
