You guys keep living in a dream world. The issue before the house is now that THIS INSTALLATION has an installed base of XEON's what are this specific installations choices.

For whatever reason, AMD was not ready with the product they needed. Past FRIGGIN' tense. Now IF AMD wanted to break in they would have to replace the entire server.

So you say, someone may think of that so I'll say: NO ONE ever just upgrades, they just throw the old servers away.

Bullsquat.

You should get Rocky the Flying Squirrel and Prof. Peabody and the Way Back machine.

All these flip words and carefully parsed arguments and Pom Pom Logic posts don't friggin' matter a hoot.

If you want to invest in stocks, a good dose of present reality should be administered.

Intel seems to have been very careful to provide an upgrade path, which oddly enough doesn't include AMD.

There are (my guess) 30 Million Xeon processors out there that are plug compatible (IE NO CHANGE) with EM64T. The old system can still run on the old drivers, all the peripherals stay the same. So you can use your printer, until you want to load a 64 driver and test it out.

If your going to attack the upgrade path show us proof, not just opinion that the drivers wont work along side the new drivers.

That is where Intel is going. This might be of some importance to AMD supporters who think that this Pom Pom logic matters one wit.

Don't you agree?
