Rousseff gets 47% of the vote in Brazil’s presidential election, all but guaranteeing victory in the Oct 31 run-off against second-place finisher, José Serra, who got 33% of the vote:

Serra is the ex-governor of São Paulo who lost the presidential election to Lula in 2002. He will need a miracle to get a majority of the vote in the Oct 31 run-off.
