dianebRN, what happens to cord blood? Is it the hospitals or is there a specific act that is carried out after delivery when a kit and contract with mother are in place? Simple, not that deep. No state regulators are involved. The wishes of the mother are performed. The kit is filled with blood and tissue by the hospital staff. It is forwarded by carrier to a lab. Again, no state regulations involved. No person is concerned about lawsuit.

Now if you do so without "Consent"... Yes, there is a legit remedy; lawsuit.

Heck dianebRN there are some owners after delivery that buried the placenta in their yards to fertilize flowers. Where were state regulators? Not concerned. The owner had it and did what they wanted with it and it did not harm another person.

CBAI does the test to insure it doesn't harm another person based on that list of diseases for its new owner OSIRIS Therapeutics. After testing it could be processed for use in the US or abroad. If the sample isn't viable it could be used for research. That is all at the discretion of its new owner OSIRIS/CBAI after delivery.
