Huh? There are laws in lots of places that don't hold elections. Actually, the rule of law has existed for longer that the elective process of selecting the government. Oh, and I don't consider recent events in Iraq to qualify as an "election". yet people get executed regularly for violating "the law" there.
As far as the small business man, I don't think these laws are that much of a problem for them.
Spoken like someone that has never been a small businessman. Try adding 12% to your costs when your bottom line only has room for 8%. Something has to go.
When I go to the super market I think it is more a question of the baggers getting a little more money.
Although I am aware of many supermarkets "employ senior citizens" programs the majority of the baggers and clerks are still in high school. This wasn't exactly a good example of people needing an increase to "stay above the poverty line".
Some people education won't help.
So true, but don't lay a sob story on me telling me I *HAVE* to help those that *WON'T* help themselves.
