Gov't could have called the game long ago and made it clear to "The Taxpayers" they need to control some supply but this is America. Politicians would have a tough go of it forcing people to forfeit the cord blood. Who controls the almighty supply in America privates "You" or public "Gov't/Pharma".
Their next best option is ESC researc. It is a supply pharma and gov't can control despite the moral issues. How do they control a cord blood supply when a womens body manufactures it and each person must volunteer/consent to donate it? Once women found out the plan is actually to allow pharma to make billions how many women would reconsider the altruistic banner so many public banks fly under today? Again, the FDA defines all cord blood not intended for family use as what? A drug.
