from a purely selfish view it won't bother me too much if federal and state gov'ts make shale gas uneconomic. The bread and butter of the companies mentioned (in N. America) is in more conventional gas reservoirs where their profit margins would be much better if shale gas went down the toilet. The populists are hoisting themselves onto their own petards. Of course, they will also be flushing more jobs down the toilet along with the gas.
