OK so in the LCRE solution we are talking about wireless printers (no wired solution), iPads (with card swipe hardware -- LCRE is working on software interface for swiping cards on iPad) and a management computer or two to connect up to the software. It sounds like a case can be made based on hardware costs. If the monitoring / management costs get included, it goes up from there.
