I don't see any piston engines on commercial airliners, or large commercial power generation systems. Small generators are mostly piston driven, frequently diesel, so I suspect the difference is up front entry (capital) cost, and operating cost differences are the biggest factors. May be cheaper to build piston engines, and cheaper to operate turbines. Maintenance is also probably lower (less to do, but more costly when done) for turbines, but takes a higher skill set.

So why do you have 12 notoriously inefficient internal combustion engines and no turbines??? (LOL)

I would still like to see efficiency comparisons, and purchase price comparisons to currently available generators.
