CLB is a good company but they have some deep pockets pointing guns at them. I suspect one of the things buoying their stock price is that some folks think that one of the gunslingers will eventually buy them.

True; moreover, if one of the gunslingers does not come through, CLB appears to have what it takes to continue putting up stellar, industry-leading ROIC numbers quarter after quarter. As long as they do that, I think the share price will do fine.
