Yup, Republican Presidents, record vacation/golf days .. you are both basically
right .. seems the Bush 879 days, below, include Camp David and his Crawford ranch ..

Mar 11, 2008 .. COLUMN: Record Breaker! Bush Takes Most Vacation Days For Sitting President

This story was written by Beau Elliot, The Daily IowanPresident Bush recently spent his 879th day at his ranch in Crawford, Texas, since the Supreme Court, in all its great wisdom, elevated him to the presidency. This according to NPR's "Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me," which noted that Bush broke former President Reagan's record for taking vacations from the White House. It's interesting to recall, all these wild years later, that George W. Bush did not decide to buy the ranch near Crawford until after he decided to run for president. Apparently, after Ronald Reagan's example, it seemed presidential to cut brush on a ranch, and Bush was seeking a brush with history. Or something. .. more ..

There are a lot of conflicting figures flying around, but according to my best information it seems to be Bush, who has taken 418 days off so far (even more than Ronald Reagan, or certainly will be more by the time he stands down.) Eisenhower apparently spent 222 days playing golf, but doesn't seemed to have equaled Bush's record. It seems Jimmy Carter spent the most time in the office - about 80 days' vacation. .. no more here .. http://www.blurtit.com/q326856.html
